Calculated Measures

Cognos developers are sometimes confused about calculated measures. The one thing they understand is that, it is called a calculated measure because we put somekind of calculation into it. There is one more meaning of the calculated measure which helps in using it in more better manner,Calculated measure calculates itself depending upon where it is placed in Lists/Crosstabs. You can say Calculated Measure is more dynamic in nature than other measures. This definition gave me clear understanding of it and helped me use it in better way in reports.
